I imagine there will be an aviary near you that raises Quakers. You’ve done your homework on them, I hope. They’re an amazing bird but you need to be prepared for their quirks. Definitely not a bird for a first time parrot owner and you need to spend quite a bit of time with them. A lot of parrot in a small package. Other than that, they can be clowns with the right person and talk up a storm.

We’ve had an african grey parrot for just over a year now and lately he’s gone crazy.He’s screaches really loud whenever someone walks out room,gets down onto the floor and he’s biting the skirting board and any wood he can find.we have put wood in his cage and he does bite that but my family wants to get rid of him now is there anything we can do to stop him doing it.

Keep him in the cage when unsupervised. When he screeches when anyone leaves the room you have to ignore this behavior so he isnt rewarded. When he is quiet and and you come in the room make sure to praise him for being a good bird.
He is screeching to get your attention, you can not acknowledge this behavior as he will be getting his way.
Make sure he is occupied in his cage with lots of toys that are switched out often.
Maybe it is best to find him a new home as birds are challenging and loud creatures and this behavior usually gets worse with age.

Yellow Headed Amazon Parrots Guide

The Yellow Headed Amazon parrots are originally from Mexico’s coastal regions, these birds have become popular pets, mainly because of their beautiful markings. These parrots are mainly green in color with a spectacular yellow head and a patch red on each wing. They can also be found further south in Honduras, Belize and Guatemala. They mostly prefer an habitat which is mainly tropical or subtropical forest, mangrove swamps, savannas, and land that has been cultivated, and trees are available for nesting. Yellow headed Amazon parrots are considered to be rare and are on the endangered species list, this is because of deforestation which has resulted in nesting habitat loss, and poaching.

Yellow headed Amazons which are captive bred are easy to find for pets, but can be very expensive. There are one of the most popular of the parrot species mainly because of their ability to talk. When it comes to talking that are second only to the African Grey parrot which is considered the best talker. The interesting thing is all Amazons are more than capable of speaking, however,  not all do. Their ability to talk varies from bird to bird, and some are excellent talkers while others never talk.  Yellow headed Amazon parrots are funny, active and extremely intelligent birds.  They just love attention will sometimes be loud and playful to ensure they get it. They are supposed to be the noisiest of all the Amazon parrots. However it is possible with a bit of training to replace the screeching with speech.

Yellow headed Amazon parrots are a very active birds that thrives in an environment that allows them to move around and fly. The best option is probably an aviary, but they can manage in an Indoor cage so long as they get plenty of daily exercise. These parrots are very easy to tame and train.
